Honey Nut Crunch

Serves 30

Ingredients

60g butter, melted
½ cup caster sugar
50g ground almonds
1 egg
2 tablespoons Cadbury® Bournville® Cocoa cup plain flour
50g butter, extra
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup sugar
200g slivered almonds, toasted

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Mix the butter, sugar, almonds and egg together. Add the sifted cocoa and flour, and mix well.
  2. Spread the mixture over the base of a lined 25 x 30cm swiss roll pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
  3. Place the second measure of butter, honey and sugar in a saucepan. Stir over a gentle heat to dissolve the sugar. Boil for 5 minutes without stirring. Add the nuts and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Remove the pan from the oven and spread the nut mixture over the top.
  5. When starting to cool, mark into fingers, then allow to set hard.
